Background:
Kevin was a simple southern boy until he was seventeen. He went to school, got reasonable grades, played at the school’s football team, helped his dad in the garage he owned and basically acted like any other All-American kid. His big dream was to someday move out of Kansas and open up a shop for restoring old cars.
Or at least it used to be, until his mutant powers manifested themselves during that football game. The other team’s quarterback got the ball and Kevin rushed at him, tackling him at mid-body, just like he was trained to do. Kevin didn’t think it was an extremely hard tackle, but the quarterback’s pelvis was crushed, and he was taken off the field on a stretcher. On his way back home after the game, he was caught by some of the quarterback’s friends. They thought he injured their friend on purpose, and they were there to get even. They ran right into him with their car. After the dust settled, he didn’t even have a mark on him. The car was bent out of shape.
During the next couple of weeks he tried to dismiss those events as some sort of a freakish coincidence, until his annual checkup was due. He was in perfect health, but when he climbed on the doctor’s scale, it simply broke. He later sneaked down to his father’s garage and weighed himself on his vehicle scale. It registered 800 kg.
Even though his parents accepted his mutantcy better than he expected, he knew his life could never be the same again. He set out to learn whatever he could about his new-found powers, and was eventually recruited by the Unlikely X-Men.

Personality:
Kevin is basically just a southern gentleman. He’ll never forget to say “thank you” or “excuse me”, and will always offer to open the door for a lady. These qualities may stand out a bit in the Big Apple and make him seem a bit strange, but definitely likable.

Appearance:
Kevin is a tall (1.85m) and broad (800 kg., although he appears to weigh about 90) football player. He cuts his blond hair short, but not too short, and his blue eyes give him an odd innocent look. He usually dresses in some old pair of jeans and a T-shirt.
As X-Pand, he only wears on a pair of short black pants, since his clothes tend to tear when he increases his size. His belt has a bright red X on its buckle.

Powers/Tactics:
Even though he doesn’t look like it, Kevin has an extremely dense body – he weighs almost 800 kg. Besides the inherit strength and resistance his mutantcy gives him, Kevin has learnt to stretch his mass and can in fact grow up to 4 meters tall. However, this process is quite painful to him and he will only do it when in great need.
Kevin is quite young and inexperienced in combat, so his fighting style does not suffer from over-sophistication. He simply relies on his strength, mass, resilience and football maneuvers to take his opponents down fast and make them stay down.

Notes:
X-Pand has changed quite a bit since the previous, 4E, write-up, especially due to the fact the dense characters can no longer buy Density Increase, but must take it as a special effect for their high characteristics.
